ZL CEO to Participate in Discussion on the Growing Conflicts Between Business Interests and Risk Governance

Published by: Marketwired

ZL Technologies, Inc. (ZL), the leader in total information governance for the large enterprise, today announced the company’s CEO, Kon Leong, will participate in a panel focusing on the growing conflicts between business interests and risk governance. The discussion will take place at ALM Media’s General Counsel Conference 2014, being held on June 4-5 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Leong will join Richard Kessler, head of group information governance at UBS, Brian Cox, principal and partner at PwC, Jason Baron, of counsel information governance and eDiscovery group at Drinker Biddle and Reath LLP and Linda Sharp, associate general counsel at ZL, to examine possible approaches in technology policy and how to implement better “parental supervision” of data across the enterprise. The General Counsel Conference provides key insight into the inner workings of the most successful in-house legal departments, including tips that focus on the changing internal structure and what the general counsel position encompasses.

Panel Title: The Rising Tide of Data – And How To Build Sea Walls For Governance
Day: Wednesday, June 4, 2014
Time: 1:45 – 2:45 p.m. ET
Panel Details: The pounding rate of data growth in the enterprise exacerbates the traditional stance of many GCs to retain only what’s necessary. The challenge is magnified by business units wanting to gather even more data in order to extract business value. These efforts, however, generate more data silos, which make transparency and oversight much more difficult, if not impossible, for the risk guardians. This session explores the burgeoning conflicts between business interests and risk governance, as technology appears to accelerate problems beyond the reach of Legal and Compliance officers. It also examines possible approaches, in technology and policy, to prepare and implement better “parental supervision” of data across the enterprise.
