New Offering Enables Enterprise-Wide Control Over Quickr Server Data

SAN JOSE, CA – Apr. 3, 2009 ZL Technologies, Inc., the leader in Integrated Content Archiving of email, IM, and files for compliance, storage optimization, records management, and eDiscovery, today unveiled ZL Unified Archive® (UA) Quickr Archiving for Lotus Quickr. ZL UA Quickr Archiving is the first archiving solution in the industry to enable real-time, policy-driven control of all Lotus Quickr content, ensuring that customers are able to enable data loss prevention controls, to apply global retention policies, and to efficiently store and search their Quickr data for legal preparedness. As collaboration software is deployed throughout organizations to increase productivity, records managers, general counsel, and compliance officers want to manage this growing source of enterprise content. At the same time, it is apparent that collaboration software falls short with respect to controlling the information risk that is inherent with data flowing across multiple collaboration access sites. To remedy this, ZL UA Quickr Archiving effectively organizes all data in one central location with common policies that allow for much faster eDiscovery and corporate governance as well as reduced storage costs. ZL UA Quickr Archiving facilitates critical governance tasks, including classification, preservation, and disposition of information assets, based on its unique ability to understand the value of the information being collaborated on across all of an enterprise’s Quickr servers and other content repositories. ZL UA’s classification engine can be linked with ZL UA’s email and file system archiving solutions for integrated eDiscovery requests across the Unified Archive®. This alleviates the need to assign teams of risk managers, legal professionals, and compliance officers to manage information risk developing across Quickr sites. The number of files created through versioning across Quickr sites would require an exorbitant number of reviewers to search through, but ZL UA’s search, retention, and eDiscovery solutions make that data much easier to manage. ZL UA Quickr Archiving delivers a number of unique functionalities designed to help with seamless integration into the archive. Some features include:
  • Powerful Search – ZL UA Quickr Archiving utilizes the same industry-leading search technology used by ZL for email and files. All Quickr information is fully indexed and archived for rapid discovery requests
  • Single-Instance Search – ZL UA Quickr Archiving reduces storage costs by enabling single-instance storage of a document across Lotus Quickr servers, Lotus Domino servers, Microsoft Exchange servers, and file systems. Additionally, older documents in Quickr can be stubbed and moved to more cost-effective storage to reduce storage costs.
  • Policy Management – Having all Quickr data stored in one central repository allows for user-defined policies to be configured through ZL UA to manage specific departments and users, set retention policies, ensure compliance through content control and data loss prevention, etc.
Though Lotus Quickr brings teams together in previously unimagined ways, the increased storage requirements and large amounts of searchable information require a powerful archiving and search product to cut costs and manage user data. With ZL UA Quickr Archiving, records managers, general counsel, and IT administrators around the world can rest assured that their Quickr data is being archived by the most comprehensive Integrated Content Archiving solution on the market. “The spread of collaboration software has been swift, and its importance will only continue to grow. Rather than shut our eyes and pray for the matter to go away, as many other vendors in the market have done, ZL recognizes the growing need for this functionality and is taking a proactive approach by providing complete and transparent integration with these types of collaboration software,” says Kon Leong, CEO of ZL Technologies, Inc. “ZL has been coordinating with customers, GCs, and regulatory bodies in order to understand the scope of this collaboration revolution so we can seamlessly integrate it into our archive.”
